Event Coordinator Fellow (10-month position)
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the contingent position of Event Coordinator Fellow. This position is full time for ten months from August 1 through May 31 and supports events that take place in the Nancy R. and Norton T. Dodge Performing Arts Center. The Event Coordinator Fellow attends all public events held at the Nancy R. and Norton T. Dodge Performing Arts Center and is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all patrons.
The Event Coordinator Fellow is responsible for ensuring that all relevant spaces are completely set up in advance of an event; greeting and assisting patrons; interceding to resolve any issues that may arise; training and supervising ushers; remaining in constant communication with the box office and stage manager throughout an event to ensure a smooth performance; and will provide direction on post-event clean-up.
The Event Coordinator Fellow will receive training on all aspects of managing the front of the house, including patron satisfaction, conflict resolution, Clear-Com, ushering, and basic set up.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Must possess strong leadership skills, general knowledge of performance venues, and prior managerial experience. Must be able to lift up to approximately 70 pounds and to work a flexible schedule to include late nights and weekends. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
