Fiscal Associate II (Performing Arts and Educational Studies Program)
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the position of Fiscal Associate II. This position supports academic and College operations for the Performing Arts (music, theater, dance) and Educational Studies Programs. This position is responsible for a variety of intricate accounting tasks that require experience and independent judgment plus completing fiscal transactions for the departments including purchasing, contractual payroll, office supply inventory and general bookkeeping duties for multiple college budgets. This position will require a great deal of interaction with people and will entail frequent use of computer programs. Duties include performing routine office functions and following accepted regulations and procedures when completing work and preparing financial reports. This position works closely with the office associate to ensure smooth and efficient building operations.
Qualifications include a high school diploma/GED, associate’s degree preferred; five years responsible experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or secretarial assignments involving advanced records keeping (directly related business school or college courses may be substituted equally for up to one year’s experience); organizational ability, proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software on a personal computer, ability to make calculations quickly and accurately, working knowledge of bookkeeping theories and practices; and ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population. Must have experience with Excel and working in an office environment. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and proof of COVID-19 vaccination, medical and religious exemptions will be considered.
