Institutional Research Analyst II
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the contingent position of Institutional Research (IR) Analyst II. The IR Analyst II supports the Office of Institutional Research in the preparation, management, and analysis of institutional data, including survey administration and analysis as well as assessment of student learning. The IR Analyst II will prepare data files for submission of federal, state and external reports; respond to internal requests for institutional data and information; coordinate the electronic management of student learning assessment plans and data; assist in the preparation and submission of data to college guides and other external surveys; and prepare public-facing documents and visualizations of institutional data and information. This is a two-year renewable contractual position which may be eligible for limited benefits.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required, Master’s degree is desirable, preferably in a quantitatively-oriented field such as Social Science, Educational Research or Planning, Higher Education Administration, Statistics, Mathematics. Higher education experience in areas of institutional research, institutional effectiveness, data analysis, research methods, and/or assessment of student learning, preferably in a liberal-arts setting. Demonstrated experience and competency utilizing data management systems, including spreadsheets, statistical and database applications is required; experience with business intelligence, reporting, and data visualization tools (e.g., Cognos/Impromptu, Informer, Tableau, Power BI) is highly preferred. Must possess excellent critical thinking, analytical and organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and an outstanding attention to detail. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and proof of COVID-19 vaccination, medical and religious exemptions will be considered.
