Office Associate I in Student Activities (part-time)
St. Mary's College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary's City is accepting résumés for the part-time temporary contingent position of Office Associate I in the Office of Student Activities. Responsibilities include performing a variety of support tasks for the Campus Center, student mailroom, and Office of Student Activities. Manages the student package room and the College’s main phone line. Assists with day-to-day management of Campus Center reservations and support. They may handle confidential and sensitive issues and/or supervise other student employees.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree preferred. Applicant must have thorough working knowledge of modern office practices and various computer software packages. Experience in managing mailroom, supervising mailroom staff, and troubleshooting package issues. Prior experience in orientation and campus programming preferred. Must be well-organized and attend to details, able to handle sensitive situations, and possess strong verbal and written communications skills with at least three years of full-time employment in the secretarial/administration field. Ability to lift at least twenty-five (25) pounds. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check and proof of COVID-19 vaccination, medical and religious exemptions will be considered.
