Title IX Investigator/Prevention Specialist
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the position of Title IX Investigator/Prevention Specialist. The Title IX Investigator/Prevention Specialist is responsible for serving as the primary investigator of reports filed under the College’s Policy Against Sexual Harassment. Primary responsibilities include managing the daily responsibilities associated with conducting investigations of allegations of sexual harassment (including sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking) as reported to and in close collaboration with the Title IX Coordinator and Deputy Coordinators, and coordinating and administering other awareness and prevention programs and functions regarding sexual misconduct prevention, with a focus on primary prevention and bystander intervention. As needed, the Title IX Investigator/Prevention Specialist will be required to be available to work alternative hours including nights and possibly weekends.
Qualifications: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree or Juris Doctor preferred. Experience in conducting investigations and complaint and grievance resolution, and/or working on sexual violence prevention initiatives, is required. Familiarity with federal and state non-discrimination laws and regulations, including Title IX, is strongly preferred. Experience working in student affairs, student counseling, and/or human resources is strongly preferred; higher education experience is preferred. The successful candidate must have strong organization, planning, analytical and problem resolution abilities; demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing; excellent interpersonal skills; demonstrated decision-making and administrative skills; ability to understand the needs of the College and to work collaboratively with students, faculty, staff, administrators and community partners. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirements of this position, may be considered.
