Katherine Sumner, MA.Ed.
Director of International Education
Katherine holds a B.A. in English and German Studies as well as an MA.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction from the College of William and Mary. A former Fulbright Scholar English Teaching Assistant in Berlin, Katherine has led numerous international experiential learning and cultural immersion programs in Germany and the Czech Republic. Additionally, her work with Berlitz teaching German and ESL in the Washington, DC area have given Katherine a depth of experience bringing international education to a wide array of students.
Melissa Golowski, B.A.
Study Abroad Advisor
Melissa is a graduate of McDaniel College, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in History and International Relations and a minor in French. In the spring semester of her junior year of college Melissa studied abroad at McDaniel College Budapest in Hungary. Upon her return, Melissa served as a study abroad peer advisor in the office of International Programs at McDaniel. Melissa could not be more excited to continue her passion for international education at St. Mary’s and help send students anywhere in the world that they would like to travel.
Sahra has been with SMCM since 2008, working as the Receiving and Dispersal Clerk at the Physical Plant before recently joining the Office of International Education. In 2015, she also became a Notary Public. In her free time she enjoys scrap-booking, taking pictures, and spending quality time with her dog.
