The Office of Student Support Services (OS3) is your resource for academic support and advising as a St. Mary’s College of Maryland student.
The Office of Student Support Services (OS3) fulfills the College mission by helping students access the activities, resources, and services that will help them maximize the likelihood of their academic, personal and social success.
OS3 strives to provide all students with excellent advising, coaching and support services designed to help them be increasingly responsible and autonomous adults. The program is grounded in:
- An understanding of the developmental needs of the student throughout the college experience.
- The importance of collaboration and active engagement on the part of all individuals involved in the student’s education.
- The value of the breadth and depth of a liberal arts education.
Advising is an on-going and multi-faceted process that focuses on the development needs of the student. While the adviser serves as a facilitator for communication and planning related to academic progress, it is the student who bears ultimate responsibility for monitoring progress towards graduation.
