This internship takes place in a local classroom in the student\u2019s licensure area. MAT students experience a supported, structured internship that includes observation, lesson planning, assessment, and teaching. MAT students also have the opportunity to complete a shorter internship in a complementary teaching area. For example, a high school biology intern could have a shorter internship in a middle school science classroom, or a special education intern could experience both an inclusion classroom and a self-contained behavior classroom.<\/p>\n
In addition to the MAT internship, undergraduates pursue internships in local schools that support the content they are learning in the college classroom.
