
Forrest Career and Technology Center
The Dr. James A. Forrest Career & Technology Center, part of the St. Mary’s County Public School System, affords high school students the opportunity to gain real world experience in a career field of their choice. They work with industry standard tools, equipment, and technology to develop marketable skills.

The Greenwell Foundation
The Greenwell Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing accessible and inclusive programs, services and facilities for all community members, with and without disabilities, in Southern Maryland. The Foundation operates in Greenwell State Park, a 600-acre property located along the lower Patuxent River in Hollywood, Maryland.

Three Oaks Homeless Shelter
Three Oaks Center offers programs that provide the homeless in St. Mary’s County with housing, stabilization, assessment, and referral to appropriate resources so that they may return to living productive, self-sufficient lives in our community. The Three Oaks Center will use their resources to help find a veteran in need of housing and employment.

Lexington Park Elementary School
The students enrolled in this course will design 45 minute projects based on their lived experience to teach to K-5 children in the afterschool program at Lexington Park Elementary School. Lexington Park Elementary School is part of the St. Mary’s County Public School System.

The Mellon Foundation
Funding for this project is provided in part by a grant from The Mellon Foundation. The Foundation endeavors to strengthen, promote, and, where necessary, defend the contributions of the humanities and the arts to human flourishing and to the well-being of diverse and democratic societies. The Mellon Foundation’s grant program provides support for humanistic scholarship, liberal arts and doctoral education, and the performing and visual arts.
