José R. Ballesteros, Associate Professor of Spanish. B.A., M.A., Ph.D., University of Kansas. José has been teaching at St. Mary’s College since 2002. He is the Associate Director of the DeSousa-Brent Program. He is a co-author of the Spanish literary anthology Voces de España (Cenage, 2004). His poetry has been anthologized in Al Pie de La Casa Blanca (Academia Norteamericana de la Lengua Española, 2010) and he has authored the book of poems Lovedust/Polvo enamorado (Izote Press, 2013). In collaboration with Leslie Bayers, he has co-translated Marcial Molina Richter’s Word of the Dead (Editorial Lluvia, 2012) and is working on the first English anthology of the poetry of Jorge Enrique Adoum. He is a co-founder and chief editor of the bilingual press Zozobra Publishing.
