The Mission

The Office of Capital Planning, Design, and Construction & the Physical Plant provide effective stewardship of the college’s buildings and grounds in a manner that honors our heritage and defines our future. Inspire the principals of the St. Mary’s Way through a collaborative and strategic planning ethos carried out by dedicated professionals to support the Mission of the College. Support the implementation of the Academic Strategic Plan within a community of students, faculty, and administrators that fosters a dynamic collegiate environment dedicated to intellectual growth and well-being. Create an improved sense of place that adopts sustainable practices through the ongoing care of our built and natural resources, and strengthens our relationship with the community, state, and nation. Integrating a long tradition of teaching within an intimate and cherished setting will prepare our students for advanced study, continuous learning, individual achievement, and leadership for the common good.

Physical Plant

The Physical Plant is a service organization whose primary mission is to repair and maintain a clean, comfortable, safe, healthy and secure environment which is conducive to the educational process. This is accomplished by multiple trades and professions utilizing the newest and most reliable technologies which support the missions of the college.

The Physical Plant provides services in an efficient and environmentally responsible manner. We provide services and products of the highest quality possible commensurate with the resources available for both the immediate and long term requirements of the College.

The Physical Plant motto is ” Service, Solutions, Satisfaction.”

St. Mary’s College of Maryland Central Receiving and Mail Services encourages the most efficient and cost effective use of the services available.
