JED Campus at SMCM
SMCM has partnered with JED (a nonprofit focused on emotional health and the prevention of suicide) to enhance our resources for supporting student mental health. SMCM established an interdisciplinary, campus-wide team to implement program, policy, and system improvements. JED subject matter experts have provided regular consultation over the first three years to help us strengthen our wellness resources. SMCM is now (2025-26) entering the fourth and final year of this specific collaboration, with the goal of enhancing wellness on campus and establishing ongoing systems to proactively pursue additional improvements moving forward.

Looking at the goal level, under each objective, 81% are completed. The following graph from April 2025 shows the percentage of goals that have been completed (green), that are nearing completion (yellow), and still need work (red), as well as the change over 3 years.
We expect to complete the remaining by spring 2026, focusing on completing the new postvention policies and working on life skills and social connectedness. See here for the workgroup reports from April 2025 for additional details.
