Erin Johnson inducted as an Alumni Member of Nu Rho Psi

Dr. Erin Johnson '02 recently received her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester School of Medicine, and was inducted as an alumni member of Nu Rho Psi.

Students on SMP Presentation Day

Ron Saul, "Chronic activation of the substantia nigra nociceptin/orphanin receptor induces motor deficits similar to Parkinson's disease," 2008. Saul, the 2008 winner of the Neuroscience Award, infused a drug into the substantia nigra of rats and measured the resulting motor behaviors, mood disturbances, and cognitive abilities.

NEUR 201. Introduction to the Neurosciences (4S)

This team-taught interdisciplinary course will introduce students to the study of neuroscience. Students will learn how the anatomy and function of the brain and nervous system underlie thought and behavior. Students will also be exposed to the methods used to study the brain and will gain proficiency in analyzing the scientific literature and communicating scientific ideas. This course fulfills the Biological Science GEC Requirement. Pre-requisite or Co-requisite(s):   CHEM 105 or CHEM 112 and PSYC 101 or permission of instructor.
