Merideth M. Taylor received her B.A. from The Evergreen State College and her M.F.A. Equivalen cy from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. She teaches movement and dance courses and directs and choreographs departmental productions. She teaches within the Women, Gender, and Sexuality and African, African Diaspora Studies cross-disciplinary areas as well. Merideth has a broad and eclectic theater and dance background as a professional performer, director, choreographer, and educator. She has taught acting, directing, mask work, stage combat, period styles of movement, and modern dance technique, improvisation, history, and composition. She has also taught and practiced movement and theater education for children and has worked as a dance therapist. Merideth is a firm believer in the value of a liberal arts education and of the crucial role in education of the creative arts. She enjoys performing and occasionally appears in her own and others' productions on and off-campus. She is also an award-winning playwright. (Office: MH 112, across from Dance Studio)
