Scholars stay at St. Mary’s College whilst taking classes, attending workshops and events, and connecting with St. Mary’s College students, faculty, administration, and staff.
The DeSousa-Brent Scholars Program is excited to announce the dates for the 2024 Summer Light Experience. This year, the program will take place Saturday, July 20 to Sunday, July 28.

Summer Bridge Participants receive:
- Free tuition, housing, and board
- Free transportation to and from the Washington DC and Baltimore areas
- Opportunities to enroll in academic courses in a variety of disciplines taught by St. Mary’s College faculty
- Workshops of time management, self-advocacy and communication, study skills, technology, career preparation and more
- Academic advising by college professors and staff
- Fun social events
- Two graded academic credits
