Lisa Scheer
is a Professor of Art and teaches courses in sculpture, foundations,
writing for the studio artist and art theory. Professor Scheer
received a B.A. from Bennington College and an M.F.A. in sculpture
from
the Yale
University
School
of Art. She has exhibited widely including one person shows at
the
Baltimore Museum of Art, the Phillips Collection, the American
Institute of Architecture. Her public commissions include sculptures
created
for National Airport, the Palmer Museum of Art at Penn State University,
and the DuBurns Arena in Baltimore. Her work is abstract in style
yet infused with suggestions of imagery and narrative. Much of
her
works are large in scale and designed in response to specific architectural
environments. She is represented by Hemphill Fine Arts in Washington,

- She is currently
completing a commission for the GSA that entails two large-scale
bronze sculptures for the entrance of the Federal Courthouse in
Brooklyn, New York.
- Grants include
two Artist Fellowship Grants from the National Endowment for the
Arts, The Maryland Arts Council, and the Pollock-Kransner Foundation |
