Note to Study Abroad Applicants during the COVID-19 Pandemic: The Office of International Education has gradually reopened the approved program portfolio during the pandemic, after careful risk assessment. As of Spring 2023, the entire approved program list will be open for application. Please note that some limitations may still apply, according to host country entry restrictions and the usual State Department Travel Advisory guidance. We do not endorse travel to regions in a Level 3 or 4 due to non-COVID-related risk. Furthermore, although each student will be insured with international health insurance while studying abroad, students are recommended to find their own international travel insurance and CFAR/IFAR policies in case of any cancellation or change in plans. Students must stay informed of conditions in their destination country and must understand that they take on their own risk when they choose to participate in a study abroad program with SMCM. Please visit the Health & Safety page for important details on these topics and be sure to reach out to internationaleducation@smcm.edu with any questions!
