University of California, San Diego
A professor of French literature and cultural studies at the University of California, San Diego, Roddey Reid will conclude the colloquium's series of presentations by discussing his work on "The Family and Its Queer Others." Author of Families in Jeopardy: Regulating the Social Body in France and numerous articles on family and health, film and advertising, and on the U.S. culture wars, Dr. Reid will test notions of the idealized, heterosexual family by examining the proliferation, impact, and social structure of the queer family in our contemporary culture.
