The War on Women's Rights:  Money / Body / Movement

Eleanor Smeal
President
Feminist Majority Foundation

President of the Feminist Majority Foundation, Eleanor Smeal is a political analyst, strategist, and grassroots organizer, and over the past thirty years, she has single-handedly defined the debates in the U.S. Congress and the national media on issues central to the on-going international women's movement.  In December 2001, under Smeal's leadership, the Feminist Majority Foundation became the sole publisher of Ms. magazine.

In "Freeing Women/Changing U.S. Global Policies", Smeal will take a broad look at women's rights, at the connections between women's empowerment, global poverty, environmental degradation, sweatshop labor, human trafficking, and so-called religious fundamentalism.
