Jim de Sève
Award-winning documentary producer and director
Jim de Sève is an award-winning documentary producer and director. His critically acclaimed documentary, "Tying the Knot", premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was released theatrically in 2004 by Roadside Attractions (Supersize Me, Ladies in Lavender) and has played in over 70 U.S. cities, in 110 festivals and in 21 countries. Tying the Knot has won eleven awards including the $10,000 Grand Prize Best Doc at the 2004 Frameline Film Festival in San Francisco. De Sève has produced pieces for Nickelodeon, MTV, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden and the American Museum of Natural History. He has directed the documentary "Burying the Saints" and was Director of Photography for "Seeds". His work has been broadcast on PBS, CBC Canada, FOX Italy, Canal+, HereTV! and others. De Sève has lectured at New York University, the International Documentary Symposium in Montreal, Film/Video Arts in NYC, the International Documentary Association and at over 100 community-based. De Sève is a recipient of grants from the Jerome Foundation, the Marcelle Foundation, the Stonewall Community Fund, the Independent Feature Project and the New York State Council on the Arts.
