National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week
November 12 – November 20, 2022
National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week is celebrated each year, one week before Thanksgiving. It takes place from November 12 to 20 this year. It creates awareness about the big problem the less fortunate face in society. With the upcoming holiday season and harsh winters, it can be a particularly difficult time for many, especially those who are struggling with hunger and shelter. Throughout the week, donations are made and volunteers sign up for programs that aim to feed and rehabilitate those in need.
Here at SMCM, we are hosting a variety of events and programming aimed at educating and addressing the issues of hunger and homelessness, especially as it relates to our campus. From a food drive to 5K, there is sure to be an event for everyone. All events are free and open to all!
