The Study Tour program at SMCM offers students the opportunity to participate in short-term, faculty-led international experiences designed to combine academic learning with cultural immersion. Typically lasting 1–4 weeks, these tours allow students to explore global communities alongside experienced faculty leaders while earning academic credit toward their degree.
Through pre-departure information sessions and advising with the Office of International Education (OIE), students determine which program best fits their academic goals and interests. Most study tours take place during the summer term (application deadline: January 1), with additional opportunities offered during the spring term (application deadline: October 1). Applications are submitted through Via TRM.
Eligibility requirements may vary by program, but most tours require a minimum 2.0 GPA and completion of judicial and academic conduct checks. Program costs, prerequisites, and specific deadlines differ, so students are encouraged to review individual program pages for full details. Current offerings for Spring and Summer 2026 are now open for application.
