Performing Arts

The Department of Performing Arts offers majors and minors in Music, Theater, and Dance. Through these areas of study, students explore the performing arts as both creative practice and cultural expression. From the introductory level, our courses combine performance, theory, and history to build a strong foundation in each discipline.

At SMCM, we believe that performance and culture are deeply connected. Our curriculum reflects the importance of artists who are not only technically skilled but also culturally aware and critically engaged with the world around them.

Music

Theater, Dance, & Performance Studies

Musical Theater

Facilites

Create and perform in state-of-the-art theaters, studios, and rehearsal spaces designed for dance, acting, and live performance!

Main Stage Season Schedule

Experience a full season of live theater and dance! Our Main Stage productions feature students, faculty, and guest artists in bold performances throughout the year.
