St. Mary’s College of Maryland is a member in good standing of the Association for Advancing Quality in Educator Preparation (AAQEP), a national accrediting organization recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation. AAQEP accreditation affirms that a program prepares effective educators who continue to grow as professionals and that the program has demonstrated the commitment and capacity to maintain quality. AAQEP awarded initial accreditation status in August 2026 (see Action Report) to the programs listed below, which must host their next site visit prior to June 30, 2031 to maintain accreditation:
