Timothy Broas is a partner in the litigation department of Winston & Strawn LLP, Washington, D.C. and concentrates his practice in white-collar criminal defense, securities litigation, corporate internal investigations, and Congressional investigations. In 2010, President Obama appointed Broas to the Board of Trustees of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. The Wilson Center, created by Congress in 1968, is a nonpartisan institute for advanced study and a neutral forum for open, serious, and informed dialogue among preeminent thinkers and policymakers. Broas was also appointed to the Board of Visitors of Mount Vernon by Virginia Gov. Mark Warner and was reappointed in 2009 by Gov. Tim Kaine. Broas received an A.B., magna cum laude, in economics and history from Boston College in 1976 and a J.D. from the College of William and Mary in 1979. He and his family reside in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
