Pre-departure Information

You, as an outbound student, have a variety of resources available to you to assist you in your pre-departure planning.

Your pre-departure resources are:

• Advising sessions with St. Mary's International Education staff
• Semester Abroad Blackboard courses for each SMCM semester program abroad
• Pre-departure Blackboard course for students going to any country
• Mandatory pre-departure meetings on each Advising Day
• Pre-departure materials from partner institutions abroad
• Center for Global Education's Study Abroad Student Handbook
• GlobalScholar, an online course set to facilitate learning about study abroad. Organized in three phases, these resources are designed to support student learning as you prepare for departure, study abroad, and continue your international learning once home
• Health brochure--mandatory reading for all outbound study-abroad students
• Safety brochure--mandatory reading for all outbound study-abroad students
