Pre-departure Preparation Resources for Students and the Study-Abroad Parent
Students are enrolled in Semester Abroad Blackboard courses for each SMCM semester program abroad. Ask your student to log in to the course with you to share its resources.
Students are enrolled in the Pre-departure Blackboard course for students going to any country. Ask your student to log in to the course with you to share its resources.
Students are required to attend a mandatory pre-departure meeting on each Advising Day during the semester prior to their study-abroad program.
The Center for Global Education offers Advice for Parents as well as a series of Study Abroad Student Handbooks to assist students in preparing to study abroad.
GlobalScholar is an online course set to facilitate learning about study abroad. Organized in three phases, these resources are designed to support student learning as they prepare for departure, study abroad, and continue international learning once home.
