Solomon’s Shoppe is St. Mary’s College of Maryland’s (SMCM) free, confidential campus pantry. We provide food, personal hygiene products, and professional attire to help SMCM students access the essential resources they need to thrive academically and personally.
Everything in Solomon’s Shoppe is 100% free and supported through community donations and the Maryland Higher Education Commission’s Hunger-Free Campus Grant Program.

Who can use Solomon’s Shoppe?
- All currently enrolled St. Mary’s College of Maryland students.
- Cost: $0. Everything is completely free.
- Main Location: Front of Waring Commons.
- Satellite Location: Campus Center’s Leadership Lab (offers shelf-stable food options).

How Solomon’s Shoppe Works
Using the pantry is quick, welcoming, and confidential. You do not need to prove financial need to visit or take items.
In-Person Visits
Drop by during our open hours to browse food, personal care items, or gently worn professional clothing.
Online Pre-Orders (Pickup)
Short on time or prefer a private pickup option?
- Submit an Order: Complete the Solomon’s Shoppe Online Pickup Form.
- Receive Confirmation: You will get an email notification as soon as your items are packed and ready for pickup.
Operating Hours
- Summer Hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays | 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Fall Semester Hours: To Be Determined (Check back prior to the start of the semester or view our Instagram for real-time updates).
- Spring Semester Hours: To Be Determined.
How to Donate & Support
What Items Can You Donate?
We accept unused, unexpired, and clean items, including:
- Food: Canned goods, pasta, rice, cereal, snacks, and non-perishable shelf-stable foods.
- Hygiene & Toiletries: Unopened shampoo, conditioner, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and menstrual products.
- Clothing: Clean, gently worn professional clothing (suited for job interviews, internships, and networking events).
