River Center/Waterfront

Project Description:

This project includes construction of two new buildings to replace the existing boathouse. The River Center (11,667 square feet) will support tidal river studies, sailing programs, and general recreation. The Rowing Center (2,700 square feet) will house crew shells, kayaks, student water related clubs, and other recreational gear. A separate federally funded project will restore and protect the shoreline and provide additional docks and a boat ramp. Together, these facilities will vastly improve the use and enjoyment of the St. Mary’s River as an activity center for all students, faculty, and staff as well as members of the local community.
