Explore study abroad opportunities through St. Mary’s College of Maryland (SMCM) and expand your education beyond the classroom. Our programs allow students to study across multiple continents while earning academic credit, immersing themselves in new cultures, perspectives, and global communities. From spending a semester in Australia, to exploring Greece on a short-term study tour or even conducting research in Costa Rica, SMCM study abroad programs offer around thirty options to combine rigorous academics with meaningful international experiences that broaden horizons.
How to Apply
Applying to study abroad through St. Mary’s College of Maryland International Education is simple. Explore available programs, choose the one that fits your goals, and submit your home campus application and direct program application for admission. The Office of International Education team will guide each student personally through each step along the way.
Financing Study Abroad
Studying abroad can be more affordable than you might think; some programs cost less than studying on campus and some may cost more. At St. Mary’s College of Maryland, many financial aid packages can be used for approved international programs, and additional scholarships and need-based grants may be available. Our team can help you explore funding options and plan for the cost of your experience abroad.
International & Exchange Students
Students from around the world are welcome at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Students applying for a full degree should inquire and apply through the Office of Admission. Students applying to study through international exchange programs should apply directly on the Via TRM application portal. SMCM offers students an amazing opportunity to study on a waterfront campus, take a variety of courses, and become part of a close-knit academic community. The International Education team will support students with the application process, paperwork to support your visa application, and preparing for life in the United States.
