Garden of Remembrance

"Officially dedicated at the Tercentenary (300th) celebration for St. Mary’s City in June of 1934, the Garden of Remembrance took over two years to create. Despite the Great Depression and the hardships of that time, countless community garden club and Daughters of the American Revolution members contributed funds towards its creation."

- Janet Haugaard

Garden of Remembrance

A much-beloved space for reflection, with views of the St. Mary's River just beyond the framing arch of its pergola.  Generations of St. Mary's students, as well as community members, have enjoyed this spot over the years.  Weddings occur here annually; students study and play in its green surround.  Share your memories of the Garden of Remembrance with us!
