The Chesapeake Writers’ Conference at St. Mary’s College of Maryland
is now accepting rolling applications for June 19-25, 2016.
This year the program will be offering
one full working scholarship for an SMCM alum.
A $1,200 value will include shared accommodations in the Townhouse Greens, meals for the duration of the conference, and placement in a writing workshop best suited to his or her writing sample and interest. The scholarship recipient will work with a number of current SMCM student scholars to form the core conference staff and each will be expected to contribute in important ways to the functioning of the conference.
Come back to Maryland’s beautiful Western Shore and join a community of writers for a week of lectures, craft talks, panel discussions, and readings, as well as daily workshops in fiction, poetry, or creative nonfiction led by exemplary faculty, including former National Book Award finalist, Patricia Henley, and Angela Pelster, a finalist for the 2015 PEN/Diamondstein-Spielvogel Award for the Art of the Essay. Course credit is offered for those enrolled in a degree program; enrollment limited.
