Capstone II: Professional Practices in Art

Exhibition dates: March 31 – April 13
This exhibition features the culminating work of Art majors from the course Capstone 2: Professional Practices in Art and reflects the breadth of contemporary studio practice across multiple media, including animation, book arts, digital art, painting, illustration and photography.
Due to the large number of participating artists, the senior exhibition will be presented in two consecutive exhibitions, with this exhibition marking the first.

This exhibition presents the culminating work of Art majors in Capstone II: Professional Practices in Art. The projects on view reflect the breadth and vitality of contemporary studio practice, spanning animation, book arts, digital art, painting, illustration, and photography.
Presented as the second installment of this year’s Senior Exhibition series, this exhibition continues the celebration of our graduating artists. Owing to the size and strength of the cohort, the Class of 2026 exhibition is divided into two consecutive presentations, each offering a distinct yet complementary perspective on the diverse creative research and material explorations developed in the capstone experience.

Gallery Hours
Boyden Gallery is open Tuesday-Friday 11-6 and Saturday 11-4, and located on the 2nd floor of Montgomery Hall at St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
