Our cabling contractors are on site this week to start running the miles of new Cat6A cable, providing redundant connections to the approximately 430 new wireless access points being deployed across all of our academic, office and community spaces. We began planning and design for the wireless network upgrade project well before our funding was certain, and now we are rolling quickly to complete this massive project by fall. The cabling crew will be working in some of the smaller auxiliary buildings this week and next, staying out of the academic spaces until after graduation.
