Meet the Student Body President
Ugonna Ejekwu

Ugonna Ejekwu is a fourth-year Biology and Biochemistry Double Major. She was the former senate leader and is now the current president. Outside of SGA, she is the Music Director of Music Club and Treasurer of SMACS/Boss. She also serves as a co-chair of Strategic Plan Implementation Team (known as SPITFire) and the chair of the Student Life and Infrastructure Committee. Ugonna is looking forward to her future as president and is excited to implement positive change on the campus.

John Crook is a current Senior at St. Mary's who is majoring in Philosophy and minoring in Political Science and Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies. They were the former Treasurer and is now the current Vice President. Aside from being the Vice President, they are a Student Assistant and Voter Registration at the Center for the Study of Democracy, and Vice President of the Chancellor's Point Board. They are also a member of Philosophy Club and loves to cook and read in their downtime. They are committed in helping the campus become a better place for students.

Luka Ackerman

Luka is a Senior majoring in Biochemistry and Biology with a minor in Spanish. Outside of his Parliamentarian duties, he is a Co-President of St. Mary's Pre-Health Club, and a Resident Assistant at LQ. In his free time, he enjoys reading and drawing while focusing on pursuing a career in medicine. Feel free to contact him if you have any questions about SGA legislation or constitutionality!
Meet the Treasurer
Sarah Levit

Sarah Levit is a second-year Public Policy and History Double Major. She was a former Senator and Open-Housing representative during the 2024-2025 school year. Now, she is serving as student body Treasurer, chairing the Finance Committee and overseeing the operating budget.
Outside of SGA, she is the President and Founder of Debate Club, a SOAR Orientation Leader, an Office of Student Success Services Tutor, and a Desousa Brent Scholar. She is also a proud member of the Women’s Tennis Team. Outside of school, she loves to play tennis, run, and read books!
All in all, she is excited to work with the SGA and the student body to ensure that the organization’s financial activities are sustainable and equitable.

Klara Smith is the Club Coordinator here at SMCM, and a former QA Senator. She is an Environmental Studies and Mathematics double major with an interest in minoring in Physics. Along with SGA she is in APAC, Rock Climbing Club, Math Club, and Sustainability Club. She also a part of the EPC, Wellness Committee, and Finance Board. She is looking forward to help clubs be at the best state they can be

Gillian (She/They) is a second-year Performing Arts and Physics Double Major. She is a former Senator for Caroline Hall and is now the current Secretary and Chair of the Wellness Committee. Outside SGA, Gillian is on Varsity Rowing, the Program Student Ambassador for the Physics Department, the Treasurer for Physics Phlocks, and a tap choreographer for Dance Club. In her (infrequent) spare time, she likes to write music and play video games.

Howdy howdy, I am Christopher! I am a current Sophomore here at SMCM and a major in Computer Science with a minor in History. I do a couple things around campus, such as working at the library, working in the learning commons, working as a DeSousa-Brent connect mentor, being the treasurer for the Public Art Collective, and overall being really awesome and cool. As Director of Communications I intend to make SGA a more well known presence around the campus!

Meet the Student Trustee Board Member
Summer LaRocco
She/Her
Summer LaRocco ‘26 is the current Student Trustee, pursuing a degree in Asian Studies and English with minors in Chinese and Educational Studies. As the Student Trustee, LaRocco represents the student body by reporting a clear view of student life on campus to the Board and reporting college-wide developments to students. She is dedicated to serving as a bridge between the student body and the Board of Trustees, ensuring smooth communication, transparency, and dedication in her work. She is also committed to bringing St. Mary’s College to the international stage, serving as a Fulbright-Hays fellow at Tamkang University in Taipei, Taiwan, and performing with and serving as an interpreter for the Romanian Philharmonic Orchestra during the Alba Music Festival in Alba, Italy.
