The Chronicle of Higher Education is seeking four interns for the fall 2014 session, which will begin in September and last through December. The Chronicle's internships aim to give current undergraduates and recent college graduates the opportunity to gain professional experience at the No. 1 source for news about higher education.

Applicants must show a strong interest in pursuing a career in journalism with relevant coursework or prior experience. The internships are full-time in our Washington, D.C. office. In addition to a $500 weekly stipend, academic credit can often be arranged.

Tutor-Counselor Position at the University of Maryland Pre-College Programs in Undergraduate Studies Full Time/Summer Position/Application Deadline: April 18, 2014

Qualifications: Undergraduate juniors, seniors, or recent college graduates with above average academic records.
Position Dates
: June 22 – August 1, 2014
Mandatory training will be held June 16, 2014.
Salary Range: $2,200 - $2,600 stipend plus room & board.

Atlantic Heritage, seeks summer interns to assist with the production of measured record drawings for an especially important and intact 18th-century historic structure near Leonardtown, MD. Interns will gain hands-on experience using both standard and digital technologies for producing archival quality documents. These are unpaid internships with credit hours offered through SMCM.

Outdoor Internships

The Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, Whooping Crane Program,  located in Laurel Maryland is looking for four students interested in a summer internship rearing whooping crane chicks to be released into the wild. 
 The student will be doing a variety of things related to crane husbandry.  They will be exercising chicks, cleaning pens, observing video, feeding chicks and doing pen repairs.  Most of this work will be done in costume.
