Join Dr. Tuajuanda C. Jordan and the African and African Diaspora Studies program in the opening reception of the Boyden Gallery’s “Africa and the African Diaspora in Campus Collections” exhibition to celebrate Black History Month on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 8 p.m.
“Africa and the African Diaspora in Campus Collections” features objects held in campus collections that are relevant to teaching and learning about Africa, the African Diaspora and African American history, culture and experience. The feature piece, shackles donated by an anonymous donor, will serve as a visual aid for the College in examining its relationship with slavery.
Gallery hours are Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The gallery is closed Sunday and Monday. For more information email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 240-895-4246.
