Director of Community Relations
St. Mary’s College of Maryland at Historic St. Mary’s City is accepting résumés for the position of Director of Community Relations. The Director of Community Relations will play a central role in refining and deepening St. Mary’s College community engagement strategy and promote the role of becoming a regional resource in St. Mary’s County. The Director is responsible for building opportunities to advance the College’s programs and strategies while managing the flow of internal and external communications to promote one institutional voice.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, journalism, English, communications, multimedia or related field from an accredited college or university, or some college and evidence of progressive work experience. Seven to ten years’ experience in communications, public affairs or community relations and supervisory/management experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Any combination of acceptable education and experience, which has provided the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the requirement of this position, may be considered. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a criminal background check.
