St. Mary’s College of Maryland student Mayumy Rivera (‘16) has been awarded a Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) to study Mandarin this summer in China. The CLS Program is a fully funded summer overseas language and cultural immersion program for American undergraduate and graduate students. It is a program of the U.S. Department of State.
Rivera will be studying Chinese language for eight weeks at Dalian University of Technology in China. A native of Baltimore, Md., Rivera is an Asian studies and Chinese language double major at St. Mary’s College.
