The St. Mary’s College Performing Arts Department works within the context of an innovative and flexible liberal arts study program. We call this the CORE, and it covers a wide range of material, including courses that focus on writing, the arts, math, science, and the social sciences. All students at St. Mary’s (unless non-English native speakers) study a foreign language. The CORE program, together with our music-specific course of study, prepares the student for a wide variety of future careers, and within any career, provides the kind of wide-ranging and cross-disciplinary knowledge that can contribute to success.
