The Department of Theater, Film, and Media Studies is proud to present “Twelfth Night, or What You Will,” by William Shakespeare, directed by Holly A. Blumner
Twins Viola and Sebastian are separated in a shipwreck; Viola, presumed drowned, ends up in Illyria. Countess Olivia, in self-imposed mourning for seven years, has sworn off love to the great disappointment of Duke Orsino, who’s smitten with her. Add to these players the complications of a love triangle, jealousy, disguise, mistaken identity, unrequited love, and . . . yellow stockings. The play concludes with a “Happily Ever After” . . . for almost everyone. Come join the festivities of “Twelfth Night, or What You Will,” one of the Bard’s most celebrated gender-bending comedies.
Following the performance on Saturday, November 11, we invite the audience to remain for an open, informal discussion of the play, moderated by Dr. Elizabeth (Beth) Charlebois, associate professor of English. Refreshments will be provided.
