Did you know that it is possible to intern abroad? A few of our semester-long approved programs actually offer an internship course embedded within the program structure! For example, imagine being selected for a Research Assistantship for academic credit while studying Neuroscience or Psychology in Sweden, helping women and children who are victims of violence at a non-profit in Costa Rica, or practicing your Chinese language while interning at a local business in Taiwan!
Furthermore, all of our study abroad program partners offer standalone internships (and/or research assistantships) abroad, too. These can be shorter term, such as over the summer. Just because a program isn’t on our approved list doesn’t mean it isn’t an option for you; we are here to help with the Non-SMCM Program approval and application process! Please note that most internships abroad are for-credit, and not for pay.
Browse the following list of our partners to see if there are any internship programs of interest:
- CET
- CIS Abroad
- API (Academic Programs International)
- AIFS (American Institute for Foreign Study)
- ISA (International Studies Abroad)
- Arcadia Abroad
- IES Abroad
- USAC
- DIS
- Amideast
