Thorpe earned an M.F.A. from Rhode Island School of Design (1996) and a B.A. in art from St. Mary’s College of Maryland (1994). Charles Burmeister’s short films have appeared at the Austin Film Festival, Dallas Video Festival, San Antonio Film Festival and the VIDEOEX Experimental Film Festival in Zurich, Switzerland.
