On November 14, 2014, Dr. Mona Leigh Guha (a research associate at the University of Maryland’s iSchool and affiliated with the Human Computer Interaction Lab) presented “Children impacting technology rather than technology impacting children” as part of the Psychology Lecture Series: Benefits and Risks of Technology Use on Children in the Home and at School.

Students awarded external research grants for SMP
Congratulations to Bradley Roberts ’15 who has won a $700 Sigma Xi award to support his joint PsycSMP being conducted with Sarah Jarrin ’15! Their project titled “In Vivo Optogenetic Induced Long-term Depression at the Parvalbumin Fast Spiking Interneuron to Medium Spiny Neuron Synapse in the Dorsal Lateral Striatum in a Hemi-Parkinsonian Mouse Model” is under the mentorship of Dr. Aileen Bailey.
Brad and Sarah together also won a $393 grant from the Beta Beta Beta Research Foundation to support the project.
